Parking across a dropped curb is a parking offense that can lead to a Penalty Fee Notice. You can be fined for parking on a dropped kerb if you don’t have permission.

Although adding a spot for your car will increase the property’s value, it will depend on where you live. Also, you must apply for a drop kerb to your property.

The distance between the entrance of a junction or sharp corner, and the proposed vehicular entry must not exceed 10 meters. The pavement or road must not be overhang by any vehicle that is parked within your property.

You will need to obtain permission to drop the kerb from your property so that a car can cross the pavement. This is because pavement may need to have additional strength to handle the vehicle’s weight, as well as protect any pipes or cables underneath.
